Alpine Avenue Festival Streetscape

McMinnville, OR | 2018

Alpine Avenue has been redesigned as a “woon-erf” or festival street in the heart of McMinnville’s transforming Northeast Gateway District.

The Alpine Avenue project implements the Northeast Gateway Plan with a shared street design that slows vehicle speeds and provides multimodal access. The curbless surface allows for special events and block parties. Features include pedestrian plazas, gardens, ADA routes, stormwater planters, and moveable planter boxes that have been adopted by a local non profit for food access and equity.

Since the opening of the Alpine street redesign, new mixed-use projects continue to be executed in the District, including the redevelopment of a former 4 acre industrial site.

The streetscape design won the ASLA Oregon Chapter Honor Award in Transportation.

This project was completed by Martin Glastra van Loon prior to joining Cascadia Partners.
