Alpine Avenue Festival Streetscape

McMinnville, OR | 2018

Martin Glastra van Loon led the redesign of a five-block low- car pedestrian spine in McMinnville’s vibrant Northeast Gateway District, which won the ASLA Oregon Chapter Honor Award in Transportation. The Alpine Avenue project connects two districts, implementing the Northeast Gateway Plan with a shared street design that slows vehicle speeds and provides multimodal access.

Features include pedestrian plazas, gardens, ADA routes, stormwater planters, and planter boxes adopted by the “Alpine Avenue Edible Landscapes Project” for food access and equity. Since its opening, several new private developments have been executed, bridging a historic legacy and a prosperous future.

This project was completed by Martin Glastra van Loon prior to joining Cascadia Partners.
